At the age of twelve, I was removed from my home and my parents. My experience in foster care was a struggle. I moved from placement to placement and wasn't able to call anywhere home. Before I joined THRU Project, I was homeless - sleeping in my car. THRU Project has given me a mentor that I trust, the skills to secure a stable income, and a safe place to lay my head. I have also gained financial literacy and the life skills I need to help me succeed. I am grateful for the chance that THRU Project gave me. THRU Project makes a difference in the lives of young adults coming out of foster care. I plan to become a doctor and run my own business someday. I want to give back to the community and give children in foster care the same hope that I was given.
